Introduction |
The CIQA was originally constituted wide letter no o.u./380/2016 dated 30.06.2016 in the UP Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU) Prayagraj. Later on the CIQA was reconstituted wide letter no. O.U./246/2018 dated 16.05,2018. |

Major Objectives |
- To develop a quality system for conscious, consistent and catalytic programmed action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the University.
- To promote measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

The CIQA shall have the following functions to fulfill the above major objectives |
- Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters f o r the various academic and administrative activities of the University, Regional Centres & Study Centres or learning support centres.>
- Oversee and report on the effectiveness of systems for self evaluation and monitoring.
- Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process.
- Arrangement for feedback responses from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality related institutional processes.
- Dissemination of information on the various quality parameters of higher education;
- Organization of inter and intra University workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles;
- Documentation of the various programmes/activities of the University, leading to quality improvement;
- Acting as a nodal agency of the University for coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of good practices;
- Development and maintenance of Institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining /enhancing the institutional quality;
- Development of Quality Culture in University;
- Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) of the University based on the quality parameters/assessment criteria developed by the relevant quality assurance body (like NAAC, NBA, AB) in the prescribed format;
- To identify the key areas in which the Higher Educational institution should maintain quality.
- To suggest to the authorities of the Higher Educational Institution, measures for qualitative improvement.
- To ensure the implementation of its recommendations through regular monitoring.
- Approval of Self-Appraisal Report to be submitted to the Assessment and Accreditation agencies on behalf of the University.
- Promote collaboration and association for quality enhancement of Open and Distance Learning mode of education and research therein: and
- Encourage industrial involvement and industry institution linkage for providing exposure to the learners.
